Legal Counsel - Trading House

Overview

Bond Chambers has been retained to appoint a Legal Counsel in a leading trading house in Geneva. You will join a recognised name in the trading industry and a stable, established global team of highly able lawyers.

The role is to deliver and source legal services across the company's diverse portfolio of commercial activities. You will provide disputes and non-contentious advice relating to the trade, shipment, storage, and transportation of oil and associated products, LNG, bulk commodities, and metals. You will also gain exposure to the structured financing of commodity transactions (which may not encompass your current practice area), directing, managing, and overseeing external legal resources.

If you are currently working in a legal capacity with a trader or energy company and undertaking physical commodity trading legal work, or if you are with a law firm and this is your practice area, we will be pleased to hear from you.

Skills Required

• 3-14 PQE


• Commodity trading, chartering/shipping, contentious and non-contentious experience


• Storage, chartering, and transportation contracts


• Admitted in a common law jurisdiction


• Positive, self-motivated, committed and pro-active.


• Ability to develop strong working relationships with people at all levels across a business
